Let it snow! Aireil and Justin knew they definitely wanted winter images for their engagement session. We were originally going to meet at Salmon River Falls, but an unexpected dump of snow made the trail to the falls inaccessible, so we met at for a snowy engagement session at Mexico Point instead! Although I might moan and groan about winter weather, especially in March when it should be starting to get more spring-like, there is no denying that the snow and ice makes for some gorgeous pictures, especially when coupled with the beauty of Lake Ontario.

Kendra + Zack Last Monday was a gorgeous winter day for Kendra and Zack’s snowy engagement session at Salmon River Falls. Kendra and Zack’s love story started as many do, with a wonderful friendship. They met through a mutual friend while at SUNY Morrisville. What started as a friendship eventually blossomed into a wonderful partnership, […]

A few weekends ago, Jordan and Nick headed to my farm in Mexico for their winter engagement session. It has been particularly chilly the past few weeks, but it gave use the opportunity to take advantage of the frozen Little Salmon River for some beautiful winter photos.

Ashley and Brian If you are a Syracuse local, you know that so far 2022 has been a whole load of brrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Gabrielle and Greg at Salmon River Falls last week for their Salmon River engagement session, our first priority was getting in front of the falls …..and then we saw the orange safety fences and signs that said “Strictly Prohibited.” Apparently, there was some re-construction going on to the trail that leads down to the falls, and it was closed. BOOOOOO!!!!! It has been a year since I did an engagement session at Salmon River Falls, so I wasn’t expecting that. But, the silver lining is that the Upper Falls are simply scrumptious, so I knew that we would still have a great backdrop for our session. What I didn’t know was how incredible the session was going to wind up. I am LOVING these images, and I am loving that Gabrielle said she wanted to get in the water (and Greg agreed!)

Every journey starts with a single step. For Elizabeth and Cody’s Delphi Falls engagement session, those steps started STRAIGHT down a small (and thankfully short) cliff side. At the bottom of the cliff: Sheer Magic! Sparking water, beautiful dappled sunlight, glowing foliage. It was like we were in a fantasy movie set.

Rebecca and Ryan bonded initially through playing a lot of Magic the Gathering together. Although I didn’t get a chance to test their prowess at the game, I can tell you one skill they definitely have: recognizing the beauty of an outdoor setting. They clearly have a keen eye in finding gorgeous outdoor locations based on their pick of Eastwood Park for their engagement session, so it is no surprise that they both love activities outdoors: Hiking, snowshoeing, and walks. Eastwood is kind of a hidden gem in Syracuse. It’s a tiny park that offers so much variety and beauty.

When Alisha and I met together in January to talk through her and Mitch’s wedding day, she wanted to have their engagement session at a tree farm since Mitch had proposed at one. It was such a great idea! Most people wouldn’t usually think of a Christmas tree farm in the off-season for pictures, but, really, EVERY season is beautiful at a tree farm. Stony Hill Acres in Palermo was super gracious (as they always are) and gave us free rein of their farm.

Outdoor lovers Jessica and Peter both work on the Hudson River, and met doing fishieries work/research, and spend a lot of time together on small boats (that’s so cute!) With all of their experience surrounded by nature, they clearly have an excellent eye for what looks gorgeous as they saw the wonderful potential of their own back yard! A cute little trail, a bit of high foliage from last season, a marshy area, and open field. GOLD!
