Elizabeth and Cody | Wedding at Delphi Falls; Reception at Springside Farms

This past Saturday was a demonstration of fate’s agreement that Elizabeth and Cody were meant to be together. As I left my house in the late morning to drive to Springside Farms, the rain was pounding down so furiously that my windshield wipers were not equal to the task. In my head I was thinking “uh-oh, this could be a total wash out.” Elizabeth and Cody had planned on their ceremony to be in front of Delphi Falls, and I was so thrilled to get to shoot a falls wedding, but was seriously thinking “this may not happen.” As I traveled further south, the rain lightened, and then stopped all together. I was thrilled that it seemed that mother nature may have shown us a bit of mercy.

When I arrived at Springside Farms for the getting ready photos and the site of the reception, they had decorated the facility in a very warm and welcoming rustic, country theme.

I spent some time with the ladies as they finished their final hair and make-up touches.

Elizabeth and Cody bought gifts for one another to celebrate the day. Cody was treated to a gorgeous album and Elizabeth got a stunning new ring set for the day.

After exchanging gifts, Elizabeth got dressed and accessorized.

Elizabeth and her father’s first look is a gold standard for why first looks exist. The emotion on dad’s face and their love for one another shined through in the photos. For many brides, this is often the first moment that they get that feeling of “this is really happening.”

After group pictures, Elizabeth and Cody got through their portraits LIGHTNING fast, because the rain was closing in on us at breakneck speed. It was kismet that the rain started just as we had planned on ending.

Mother nature drenched the earth during our 15 minute drive back to the farm, and then stopped just as we arrived in time for some “must have” pictures overlooking the farm and in front of the sunflowers.
