Love knows no bounds, and this year has certainly exemplified this adage. When you follow your heart, the rest falls into place. This past Sunday was a testimony of the power of love and commitment. It was a joy being a part of Lauren and Gerrit’s wedding at SKY Armory.
I arrived at SKY Armory in the early hours of the morning. The city was still waking up, with store owners and employees getting ready for the day. It was forecasted to be an extremely hot day, but it was so lovely in the morning, you would have never known.
The accent wall that Lauren chose to highlight her and Gerrit’s sweetheart table was divine! It provided the perfect backdrop for some quick pre-ceremony portraits.
Lauren’s gorgeous gown, purchased from Your Perfect Day, was so classic and graceful. Lauren looked like a modern day Audrey Hepburn. She paired it with the perfect hair style from Ye Olde Hair Shoppe.
When someone important in Lauren’s life is celebrating their own joy, Lauren embraced it and wanted to make sure that she captured the moment.
I always consider the pinning of the boutonnieres to be symbolic of the bonding between the men of the two family.
I love that SKY Armory has such a variety of backdrops right inside. The ladies had their gorgeous accent wall, while the gentlemen had a wonderful brick backdrop.
First look between Dad and Lauren. My heart melted.
Modern times call for new and creative ways to do things. I LOVED the way SKY Armory set up the chairs to distance people, and made Lauren and Gerrit the central focus. I was immediately enchanted with the feeling of an Italian Bistro when I walked into the ceremony space for the first time.
Instead of flower girls, Lauren opted for Flower Grans! I am soooo in love with this idea. This was such a special touch to their day, and incorporated their much beloved Grandmas.
Gerrit’s emotional vows to Lauren had the room in tears.
After such an impassioned declaration of vows to his bride, Lauren and Gerrit comforted each other with a quick hug.
Lauren vows were as touching and sincere as Gerrit’s. Her vow to her husband and her faith in the Lord was a true testament to the strength of bond between these two.
After ceremony smiles!!!!
Lauren’s maiden name? Darling! How could they not pose for a portrait in front of “Oh My Darling“?
